We’re less than one month away from the 2023 GeekWire Summit, our signature business and technology conference, and we’d like to invite you to join us Oct. 19 in Seattle for what’s shaping up to be one of the most extraordinary events in the 12-year history of this series.

The theme of this year’s GeekWire Summit is AI Gets Real. We’ve assembled a stellar lineup of leading technologists, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and even an award-winning Hollywood screenwriter for a deep dive into the ways artificial intelligence is changing business, technology and the world.

Tickets are available now. Register here or below to attend.

A couple big changes this year:

  • We’re excited to host this year’s Summit at the former Cinerama in Seattle, as the first public event at the iconic movie theater since its acquisition by the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) from the estate of late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.
  • The event this year is a half-day conference on the afternoon of Thursday, Oct. 19, followed by an optional evening screening of a surprise film on the big screen. (Yes, the theater’s famous chocolate popcorn will be served up for attendees.)

Confirmed speakers so far include:

  • Ted Chiang, the award-winning science-fiction writer who was just named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in AI. His novella, “Story of Your Life,” was adapted into the 2016 motion picture, Arrival.
  • Charlotte Yarkoni, Microsoft President, Commerce + Ecosystems for Cloud + AI, who works closely with startups and large companies adopting AI technologies.
  • Redfin CTO Bridget Frey, who is on the front lines of AI, leading software and engineering teams at the Seattle-based real estate brokerage and technology company.
  • Eric Heisserer, a screenwriter, producer, director, and showrunner known for films including Arrival and BIRD BOX, and the YA fantasy series Shadow & Bone.
  • GitHub Chief Product Officer Inbal Shani, who has led engineering and product teams at Amazon and Microsoft, with extensive experience in AI and large language models.
  • Diego Oppenheimer, managing partner at AI-focused venture fund Factory, former Algorithmia CEO, a serial entrepreneur, product developer and investor.
  • Juliette Powell, entrepreneur, technologist, strategist, and author of the new book, “The AI Dilemma: 7 Principles for Responsible Technology.”
  • David Shim, co-founder and CEO of Read AI, a Seattle startup focused on artificial intelligence for meetings; the former CEO of Foursquare; and founder and former CEO of Placed, which was acquired by Snapchat in 2017.
  • Byron Boots, who leads autonomous vehicle startup Overland AI and serves as the Amazon professor of Machine Learning at the University of Washington.
  • AI veteran Keith McCall, founder and CEO at Pollen Systems, which is developing AI technologies to help feed the world; and CEO at Everyvine, which is using AI to create more available and accessible wines.

With insightful talks by individual speakers, and panels focused on the business and technology of AI, we’re confident you’ll get a wealth of knowledge and inspiration at this year’s event.
