— Seattle-based fintech company Remitly added two new board members: Ryno Blignaut and Phyllis Campbell.
Blignaut is an investor with Silicon Valley venture firm Khosla Ventures and previously served as CFO of Restoration Hardware and Xoom.
Campbell recently retired after serving as chair of the Pacific Northwest region for J.P. Morgan. She was previously president and CEO of The Seattle Foundation and CEO of U.S. Bank of Washington. She is a board member of the Allen Institute, the business group Washington Roundtable and the U.S.-Japan Council.
Remitly also announced that current director and early investor Ron Shah is stepping off the board June 14 to focus on other professional pursuits. The company, which went public in 2021, reported revenue of $191 million last year, up 41% year-over-year.
— Joseph Staten, a longtime Microsoft leader and Halo veteran, announced he is departing. Staten was most recently head of creative for Halo Infinite. He spent more than 15 years at Microsoft and also held leadership roles at Bungie, helping develop the first Halo games.
— Mariah Scott joined precision agtech company Rantizo as CEO. Scott previously led Skyward, a Portland, Ore.-based drone management startup that was acquired by Verizon in 2021. Former Skyward exec Jeff Holman is also joining Iowa-based Rantizo, which operates drone-based agricultural spraying. “The company and the market feel like a fantastic opportunity to take what we learned building Skyward, and use it to improve sustainability and productivity in agriculture,” Scott wrote on LinkedIn.
— Camas, Wash.-based Sigma Design named Lindsey Dotson as CEO and president, effective April 24. Dotson joined the company a decade ago and replaced longtime leader Bill Huseby, who is retiring.
— Sana Biotechnology named two new research leaders. Sana’s longtime chief medical officer, Sunil Agarwal, will step down from the company after a transition period.
- Douglas Williams joins as president of R&D. Williams was previously CEO of Codiak BioSciences and held leadership positions at Immunex, Seattle Genetics and Biogen. He was also CEO of ZymoGenetics, a Seattle company bought by Bristol Myers Squibb in 2010.
- Gary Meininger joins as chief medical officer. Meininger was previously an executive at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson and Merck, and was a clinical assistant professor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
— Boeing named Jim Hileman as its new vice president of Boeing’s Sustainability and Future Mobility organization. Hileman was previously chief scientific and technical advisor for environment and energy at the Federal Aviation Administration.
— Tune Therapeutics, which has locations in Seattle and Durham, N.C., hired Zachary Hale as general counsel, and Derek Jantz as chief technology officer. Hale is a former senior VP at Juno Therapeutics and Jantz was previously chief scientific officer at Durham, N.C.-based Precision Biosciences.
